Dr. Anna Leipprand

Anna Leipprand is a Post-doc in the Governance Group. She works on the politics and the political economy of energy transition processes, and on changes in public discourses on climate and energy.

Between 2013 and 2017 Anna worked at MCC as a PhD student, supported by a scholarship from Reiner Lemoine Stiftung. In her PhD she analyzed the historical development of the discourse on energy transition in the German Federal Parliament, the role of scientific policy advice in the energy transition discourse and the more recent political debate on phasing out coal.

Previously Anna worked for the German Advisory Council on the Environment and for the Ecologic Institute, where her research areas included climate change mitigation in energy and agriculture and the relation between environmental growth and sustainability. She holds a Diploma in Biology and a Master in European Studies.
