Sarah Mayr is an agricultural economist working as research fellow in MCC’s working group Sustainable Resource Management and Global Change since August, 2017. Her current research interests are:
- sustainable options for restoration and utilization of degraded tropical land to protect tropical forests and reduce emissions related to tropical deforestation
- monetary and political instruments to protect tropical forests as carbon sinks
- environmental and development economics
She studied at the University of Bonn (B.Sc.) and at Humboldt-University Berlin (M.Sc.) and acquired research and working experience in Indonesia, China and Kenya. During her Master’s studies and after receiving her Master’s degree in 2016, she worked for the Centre for Rural Development (SLE) in Berlin.
