UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has invited all world leaders to a signing ceremony on 22 April for the climate agreement that was reached in Paris in December last year. The agreement not only endorses the ambitious 2°C target for global mitigation; for the first time, all countries have agreed to pursue efforts to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

We want to discuss about:

- What are the next steps in developing the climate regime to enable attainment of the ambitious long-term goal?

- What does Paris mean for European and German climate and energy policy?

- How can the Agreement develop further to effectively foster mitigation in other world regions, in particular developing countries relying heavily on coal to meet their appetite for energy and economic growth?

22 April 2016, 2.00 - 3.30 p.m.
