November 13, 2012 - Scientific Policy Advice
Scientific policy advice is often understood as the effort to make policies more "reasonable" with scientific findings. Yet at the same time, the role of scientific policy advice in the public and media is increasingly under fire for alleged abuse of the authority status of the sciences for political purposes.
Ottmar Edenhofer from the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) and from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) presented different scientific policy advice models in the context of this problematic and discussee possibilities for expanding certain models.
