 Josefine Hintz

Josefine Hintz is a PhD Researcher at TU Berlin under the supervision Prof. Dr. Felix Creutzig and Prof. Dr. Lynn Kaack. Josefine is a visiting researcher both at MCC and Hertie School. Her research focusses on governance of artificial intelligence (AI) for climate action European cities. Josefine aims to examine the governance perspective of AI-driven climate change mitigation in cities in detail, and develop insights that can inform local governments and policy-makers that are looking to apply the technology. Josefine has been awarded a PhD scholarship from Heinrich Böll Foundation.

Prior to this Josefine worked for ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, where she supported public authorities globally to leverage public procurement to create environmental and societal value as well as to drive innovation for public good. Josefine also worked as a research associate at the Circular Cities Hub, at the Bartlett School of Planning. She holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Urbanism from University College London, UK, and a Bachelor in Studium Individuale (Liberal Arts Education) and Law from Leuphana University Lüneburg.
