Marie Zeller
Policy Analyst & Scientific Advisor for the Council of Experts on Climate Change
Marie Zeller is a Policy Analyst and part of the MCC Policy Unit with a focus on international climate policy. In addition, she works for Dr. Brigitte Knopf as a scientific advisor for the German government's Council of Experts on Climate Change (ERK). The Council of Experts reviews national greenhouse gas emission data and the assumptions underlying climate action programs, in case sectoral reduction targets are missed.
Before coming to the MCC, Marie worked at the policy consultancy Technopolis Group. She holds a master’s degree in Climate Physics from the University of Potsdam with a thesis at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research. She obtained two bachelor’s degrees, one in
Physics and one in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz. As part of her studies, she spent a semester at the Uppsala University in Sweden and worked at the Climate Service Center (GERICS) in Hamburg. She gained experiences in the analysis of European and international climate policy working for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as an intern in the Brussel’s office.
