Diversity, tolerance and equality

At the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC), we stand for a corporate and interpersonal culture of diversity, tolerance and equality. This is made explicit in the two following documents:

  • The Diversity Guidelines for MCC represent an ideal, normative target state that our institute has adopted as a benchmark. Its purpose is to define what characteristics and criteria are important for a diversity-appropriate institute culture. The document can be found here.
     
  • The implemention of diversity in one of the most commonly featured dimensions in science and academia, the underrepresentation of women, is being adressed in the Equal Opportunity Strategy. It explains the underlying motivation, describes concrete steps of action, and introduces the Equal Opportunity Team (EOT) and the elected Equal Opportunity Representatives (EOR).The document can be found here.
