Talking about the future over breakfast: with a “Women in Science Breakfast” on 25 November, the Berlin-based climate research institute MCC (Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change) is addressing women who are excited about research in the field of climate and environmental policy. As a scientific think tank, MCC combines high-level economic and social science analyses with a structured approach at the interface to politics. As part of Berlin's vibrant research environment, it cordially invites participants to an informal exchange about current activities and opportunities for cooperation. The target group is bachelor and master students as well as women at the beginning of their careers. The event will be in English.

Women in Science Breakfast
Friday, 25 November 2022, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
MCC, EUREF Campus 19, Torgauer Straße 12-15, 10829 Berlin (Schöneberg).

“The share of women in research is too low in general, and there is, so to speak, a leaky pipeline as they pass through the various career stages,” says MCC Secretary General Brigitte Knopf. “MCC is taking targeted countermeasures, among other things with an Equal Opportunity Strategy, and now also with this event. We are happy for interested women to come to the breakfast, where we will give them an insight into our scientific work related to the political and economic challenges of the climate crisis, our activities at the science-policy interface, and career opportunities at MCC, such as PhDs, master's theses or research assistantships.”

The event will be attended by MCC women from all levels: this will provide an opportunity to simultaneously ask questions about the options and meet the people behind the science.
